You take the high road

Today’s adventure took us on a bus trip to Loch Lomond. The little village of Luss was home base and the friends were ready to care for our every need. Though it was only a short ride, they had refreshments ready for a mid-morning break. Which was more than I would normally eat for lunch - in fact, I think I might be still full from yesterday’s feast!

Have you ever heard Kingdom songs played with bagpipes?

During a brief walk through the town, we walked through a cemetery where we found a connection to London Bethel. There was a grave for Dr. John Stuart and on the grave it mentioned his work in translating the Bible into Gaelic. This Bible includes Jehovah’s name at least 200 times and is now on display at London Bethel.

And the local friends had a copy of the Gaelic Bible opened to Psalm 83:18

We enjoyed our first Scotch and Gin tasting. . .

Then we cruised Loch Lomond. Loch means Lake and oh what a lake it is. Just north of here there is also a Loch Ness - but we have been assured that there is no Loch Ness monster. There are 22 named islands on this lake and a few have interesting stories:

 - Inchtavvanach “Monk Island” was established with a monastery 1500 years ago.

 - Inchconnachan is the only place outside of Australia with a healthy wild wallabies population.

Piper, a Scottish terrier (known as Scotties) helped captain our boat

Hope you enjoyed the tour as much as we did!
